What the sellers love about their home

This house was built on this golf course lot when there was only one other house on the street. That gave us the ability to choose the right lot for this custom-built house. We choose this special lot because it gave us the ability to see the entire sixth hole of the River Run Country Club golf course. The house faces a forest with a deep buffer and no planned development. The rear of the house faces a perfectly maintained golf course with the nearest neighbor to the south being hidden behind numerous trees and over a hundred yards away. A mature landscape provides privacy to the East and West.

We designed the house so that the first-floor master bedroom, living room, and kitchen were open to the beauty and relaxed activity of the golf course. The elevated design of the covered veranda allows us to enjoy the outdoors and the expansive view during most any weather condition. It also allows us to watch some great and not so great golfing which can be even more fun if you know the players! It is the resort version of the traditional front porch.
The southern exposure along the golf course side is passive solar in concept. During the Summer, the sun is high and is largely blocked by the eves from directly entering the house thus reducing UV damage and interior heating. During the winter the sun is lower in the sky and offers more direct light which also reduces heating requirements. The walls of windows ensure a bright interior and great view.

The swimming pool and spa provide many benefits. One is esthetics. The sound of falling water and the coolness of the Caribbean blue pebble tec finish make you feel like you are at a high-end resort with easy access to Country Club amenities – In fact, you are!

Some might think living on a golf course could negatively impact privacy. We have not found that to be the case. The planters and brick walls along the western end of the pool offer privacy from most golfers. Like most pools that front a golf course, golfers may see us relaxing in the pool if they happen to hit a ball onto our side of the fairway. We are well past 50 so we are no longer concerned that someone may judge us on our physiques. Most of the golfers are in no better shape! The benefits and view from this house far out way the very minor impact on privacy.

The integrated spa is heaven on earth! After the sun goes down, there is no one to see how you enjoy the swirling hot water and relaxing jets. It is a perfect way to end a stressful day!
When our children were growing up, it was like having two homes. They lived upstairs and entertained themselves in the large recreation room over the garage. Their bedrooms and the occasional guests were far enough from our downstairs master that our sleep (and theirs) was never an issue. The floor plan is perfect for empty nesters and visiting family/friends.
Another feature of the house is the “walk in crawl space”. We built a workshop that keeps the mess and most of the tools out of view. It is also where a ton of things can be safely stored.
The house has good “bones”, meticulously maintained, and is a great value at the asking price. It is great in its current configuration or able to adapt to a new owner’s tastes.

I could go on and on why we love this house but it is time to relocate due to our business and personal needs. We will be sad to say goodbye to this wonderful home. We hope to find new owners who will care for it as much as we have.
